The first couple of hours was a blessing for me, since I oh-so-love the sound of the rain tapping on my window as I sleep. The drone helps me relax despite the amount of schoolwork loaded unto my shoulders, so that first night was generally a good one.
Unfortunately the rain continued to pour well into the rest of the next morning, and didn't stop. Eventually flooding began in various places in the Philippines. Or rather, Luzon, since i'm not sure what happened in Visayas and Mindanao. I went outside our house and saw that pedestrians were wading with flood up to their knees. News mentioned that other locations worse-off had flood all the way up to the thighs. Which is effed up.
Also heard about various bits of disturbing news: submerged houses in Marikina, civilians being swept away by the current, walls collapsing on several students (also being carried away by current) from my grandfather, who was listening to his trusty am/fm handheld in the living room, from my tv, and from my classmates who texted me from their dorms (which were also apparently partly submerged).
As of this writing, the rain had stopped and much of the flood has settled down. But Marikina, I think, is still submerged. Several donation programs have cropped up in response to this.
For obvious reasons, classes were suspended (followed by much happiness from a lot of people i know). Unfortunately, for those of us who think being in school premises all the time is becoming crucial for thesis work, closing the school sucks.

Have a nice day
